Amy’s Homemade Salsa

I’m posting the recipe for my homemade salsa because it’s a favorite in our house. An added bonus is that it’s sugar-free and yeast-free for those who are following that regimen.

* To modify the spiciness of this salsa, add or reduce the amount of jalapenos to your taste. *



  • 2 large tomatoes, seeded (optional) and diced
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-3 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional – if you like a little “sauce” to your salsa)

Combine everything and chill for at least two hours. Serve with corn tortilla chips.
